↳  Wu Zetian (The Empress of China)

“Men are hypocrites. With a female regent, you’re content with naming anyone as the puppet Emperor. You’ll look the other way and accept it. But now if I’m determined to remove this veil, what can the lot of you do to me?”

Hey! Could you please recommend me some juicy cdramas?

sseuregis:

I’m not sure what genre you’re looking for, so I’ll do a drama per genre?

Crime: When A Snail Falls in Love (2016) - watching this drama practically feels like watching a film that just has a lot of parts, it’s a great crime drama but has lovely slow burn romance.

Family: Because of You (2017) - a remake of Jang Bo Ri Is Here! but manages to make it sliiiiightly less ridiculous and instead is just a family melodrama.

Fantasy: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (2017) - overall probably the best executed fantasy drama I’ve seen, even if I didn’t personally love the ending (but my mum did).

Historical: NIRVANA IN FIRE (2015, epic) but also Chronicle of Life (2016, for palace drama and love triangle) or General and I (2017, for romance and fighting).

Romance (Modern): Across The Ocean To See You (2017) - a drama that was so light and fun and had a supportive romance, but the last ten or so eps were super melodramatic before a cute ending. Enjoy, but be prepared, because I was not.

School: (hesitantly) Rush to The Dead Summer (2017) - but I would recommend only watching up until the end of the school storyline (aka about halfway through the drama).

Slice of Life: Ode to Joy 1 + 2 (2016/17) - of course there were storylines I didn’t love, but it managed to truly depict a lot of struggles that women of varying ages go through.

Workplace: Stay With Me (2016/17) - perhaps not the most amazing of dramas overall, but the love-hate relationship between the leads won me over completely and it was worth watching just for that.
